How can I get a telephone and Internet equal to bell south/?

I want to get telephone service and internet access with one company not affiliated to Bellsouth or AT&T. Where can I find one?

    There’s RCN and Comcast out here in New England.

    There’s also Verizon, but I think it’s DSL instead of Cable Modem.

    There’s Times-Warner.

    Lots of companies. Just ask your neighbors what they use or look in your mail. You should get some ads from them.
